PICTURES OF HARRY AND IDA DEYOUNG
Below is a picture of the Harry and Ida DeYoung Family about 1930. The whole family must have been in Kent for this picture. Everyone is here expect Neil, Henry’s wife. It is my understanding that she was the picture taker and rarely shows up in pictures. I love this picture.
Left to right – back row John DeYoung, Henry DeYoung, Milford DeYoung, Glen Stanley, Harriet DeYoung Stanley, Frances DeYoung, Ellen DeYoung holding Al DeYoung, Jean Clendenning DeYoung, Ben DeYoung. Left to right middle row – Betty DeYoung Ida Dykstra DeYoung, Lowell DeYoung, Minne (Harry) DeYoung, Bob DeYoung. Front row – Jim DeYoung.
Next is a picture of Minne and Ida’s house in Kent. Minne built much of the house as he did on John and Ellen’s house when they got married. Behind the house was a barn, outhouse and a garden. I don’t remember my Great-Grandfather, I just remember my Great-Grandmother and she basically lived downstairs and didn’t have a bathroom. I remember being fascinated by the bedpan in her bedroom.

A picture of Minne with Lowell and an unknown girl. I suspect Minne liked to grow vegetables. I think it has something to do with being Dutch.
Next is a picture of Minne with Anna Frances about 1920.
