Deed: G.W. to Sarah Blackburn – 1925

THIS DEED OF CONVEYANCE, made and entered into this 29 day of October 1925 between Geo. W. Priest party of the first part, and Sarah F. Blackburn party of the second part,

WITNESSETH: That the said part of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Five 25 Dollars cash in hand paid do hereby sell and convey to the party of the second part, heirs and assigns, the following described pro­perty, to-wit: One undivided interest in the following described land situate, lying and being in Floyd County, Ky., and on the waters of Brushy Creek.

 

Tract No. 1 Bounded and described as follows: Beginning on the wolf branch on a sweet gum and beech N 17 E 110 poles to two beeches N 75 E 80 poles to two chestnut oaks on top of the ridge at the head of the cow fork, S 86 E 40. poles to three forked chestnut oaks on a high knob S 35 E 40 poles to a chestnut oak same course 40 poles to a stake S 74 W. 200 poles to the beginning. Being same tract of land patented in name of John Preiest (sic) bearing date Apr. 7, 1851.

Tract No. 2, Beginning on the Kit Narrow Branch on left side of said branch on the point of a ridge on a beech and black oak N 10 W 34 poles to a chest­nut oak N. 28 W 6 poles to a chestnut oak a corner of a former survey made in the name of said Priest N 33 W 40 poles to a chestnut oak at the head of the cow fork on top of the ridge N 4 E 100 poles to a stake N 85 S 70 poles to a stake S 34 W 184 poles to the beginning. `

The immediate source of title of the grantor Geo. W. Prest (sic) to said land is by inheritance from his father John Priest (deceased) who died intestate the owner of said land about the year of and also include any interest in said land that might have been owned by his mother Mohala (sic) Priest at the-time of her death.

TO HAVE AND TO TOLD the same together with all the appurtenances there­unto belonging unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part hereby covenants with the said party of the second part, that he will warrant the title to the property hereby conveyed unto said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever.
