KNOW all men by these presents that we James Cummings, Richard Preece, Wm. Keeton and Henry Mayo, are held and firmly bound unto John Graham in the penal sum of $1000 for the true payment whereof we do bind ourselves our heirs &c firmly by the presents sealed with cut sealed and dated the 26th day of May, 1812.
THE CONDITION of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound James Cumming hath this day been recommended unto the County Court of Floyd by John Graham surveyor of said County as his Deputy. If thereupon the said James
Cumming shall truly and faithfully execute the office and duties of a deputy surÂveyor
under said Graham according to law then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force power and virtue.
