Joshua Robertson (1794 – 1851-54) and Nancy Wilson (1798 – ?)

Joshua Robertson was born about 1794 probably in Bedford County, VA.  He died between 1850 and Apr 1857 Clay Co., Illinois.

Joshua lived in Adair/Wayne County, Kentucky where he married Nancy Wilson.  They also bought property in 1824 in Adair>Wayne County, Kentucky on Wolf Creek  which flows into Lake Cumberland where his Father also owned property.

15 Sep 1830 – Dudley Hughs of Adair Co. to Joshua Robertson of Adair Co., 120 acres on “Big Creek of Russels Creek” for $175; signed by Dudley Hughs and Betsy A. Hughs (G:485-486; FHL #828,870).  Russell Creek is to the northwest of Wolf Creek and closer to the town of Columbia.

18 Sep 1830 – Joshua Robertson and wife Nancy of Adair Co. to John Hughs of Adair Co., 68 acres on Big Creek for $100; signed by Joshua Robertson and Nancy Robertson (both by mark) (G:495-496; FHL #828,870).  This must be part of the 100 acres they  bought in 1824.

They must have moved to Clay County, Illinois between 1830 and 1840 because they sold most if not all of their property in Adair>Wayne County.  They are in Adair County in 1830 and Clay County, Illinois in 1840.
