Sale Minerva to Sarah Blackburn – 1908

This Deed of conveyance made and entered into this 26th day of March 1908 between Minerva Priest of Floyd County Kentucky party of the first part and Sarah F. Blackburn of same county and State of Ky. party of the second part. Witnesseth: that said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of ($200.00) Two hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged does hereby sell and convey to the party of the second part her heirs and assigns the following described property to-wit: A certain tact of land lying and being in Floyd County Kentucky and on the water of Brushy Creek. Beginning on 2 chestnut oaks on top of the ridge at the head of the Cow Fork S 86E40 poles to 3 forked chestnut oak on a high on a high knob to Colonel Blackburn’s line. Thence 335E40 poles to a chestnut oak same course 40 poles S74W on the last call of the survey to the lot fence near the stable and thence with said fence to the top of the hill. Thence with the line of the said Priest survey to Mont Smith’s line thence up the point with its meanders to the beginning. This being a part of the said land conveyed to Minerva E. Priest by the heirs of John Priest by deed of date 4th day of Nov. 1898 recorded in Deed No. W page 83 Floyd County records. To have and to hold the same together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever, and said part of the first part hereby covenants with the said party of the second part that they will warrant the title to the property hereby conveyed unto the said part of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof, the part of the first part hath hereunto subscribed her name the day and year aforesaid.
